I wouldn’t recommend this to any Board members as a way of raising funds for your organization.
A mother and her 3-year-old daughter treated poorly on a JetBlue flight received an apology from the airline, a voucher – and a $5,000 gift to the charity of the mother’s choice. The daughter was not allowed to use the restroom while the plane sat on the tarmac, forcing her to urinate in her seat.
Poor corporate behavior can’t be excused through the use of philanthropy, nor can philanthropy make up for what this family went through. But for the not-yet-named charity chosen to receive this gift, every little bit helps.
